GYLA reports its latest observation results. By 20:00, the polling stations were closed and the vote count procedure has started.

By now, 73 complaints were lodged at the precinct, 61 – at the district levels, in addition to total 151 remarks.

From 18:00 to 21:00, GYLA’s observers have revealed the following violations:  

At one of the polling stations in Gldani, the member of the election commission has received an SMS, requesting “the information about the number of visiting voters, mayor supporters, Georgian Dream supporters and invalidated ballots – immediately.” According to our information, the upper electoral commission has called the precinct election commission, instructing them to not answer to the request. We immediately called the  number in question and the owner of the number responded and introduced himself as the Georgian Dream campaign representative.  

 

Obstructing the Work of an Observer:

- The police did not let our observer enter the polling stations #10 and #11 of Vake district. The incident was resolved after the involvement of the district election commission. The police also does not let GYLA’s observer enter the polling station #40 of the Chughureti district;

- GYLA’s observer was expelled from the polling station #20 of the Krtsanisi district, after the observer has lodged the remark to the electoral logbook;

- Our observer was threatened to be expelled from the polling station #29 of the Vake district;

- Another one of our observers was verbally insulted at the polling station #4 of the Batumi district.

 

Problems, related to the Voters’ Lists:

- In Didube district, in 5 cases, voters indicated problems in the voters’ lists. Three of those cases were reported at the polling station #52. It turned out that the voter was not on the list. The commission explained that their data was included in the list of Senaki district;

- At the polling station #4 of the Dmanisi district, there was an attempt to vote with invalidated ID card. The incident was resolved following the remark of our observer;

- At the polling station #11 of Vake district, a voter with prior inking was allowed to vote.

 

Violating the Secrecy of Vote

At the polling station #4 of the Dmanisi district, the observer of one of the observer organizations was secretely watching a voter in the booth. When our observer has pointed out that this was against the law, the violator has responded to not interfere, because everything would be as they wanted. The violator has also refused to name the observer organization they represented.

 

Mobilizing Supporters near the Polling Stations:

- At the territory, adjacent to Gardabani polling stations, various political party representatives are being mobilized. There are also crowds near the polling station #50 of the Marneuli district and #32 of the Mtatsminda district, as well as in Akhaltsikhe and Shida Kartli regions;

- The representatives of the “March of Georgians”, gathered near the polling station #4 of the Aspindza district are declaring that they will defend the votes of Levan        Tsabadze (independent candidate).
