On July 6, 2015 the Central Election Commission(CEC) and Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association(GYLA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the framework of “Electoral Education Schools 2015” project with a view to promote public awareness and election culture.

Promotion of public awareness and election culture are supposed to be the cornerstone for development of democratic election process. Organizations are eager to contribute to civil engagement, increase of voters’ awareness and popularization of elections among population at large, especially in youth, vulnerable and minority groups. For achieving stated objectives, the parties will cooperate closely in the framework of successful implementation of “Electoral Development Schools 2015” project.
In the period of July 13-24, 2015 17-25 years old youth will have an opportunity to undergo the training course in 10 election districts and to obtain necessary knowledge on election issue that will assist to improvement of democratic process in the country.
CEC in cooperation with GYLA and the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) with financial support of the Council of Europe (CoE) and US Agency for International Development (USAID) has been implementing the pilot project “Electoral Development School 2015.”
