GYLA’s observers are observing the June 15/2014 majoritarian by-elections of the representative body of the local self-government – Sakrebulo in Senaki (#64.13 Potskho) and Zugdidi (#67.11 Ergeta) districts.

Despite some violations, the polling process is mainly being conducted in the peaceful environment by the 12:00.

All of the three electoral precincts were properly equipped with the electoral materials and ready for receiving a first voter in a timely manner.

In separate cases, the two representatives of the electoral subject were present at the polling station; also, the integrity of the electoral box seal was damaged, after which the commission has decided to re-seal the electoral box and contunue the polling process.

The electoral administration adequately responds to the remarks made by GYLA observers and eradicates the procedural legislative violations. In cases when the violations are eradicated, as a rule, GYLA observers do not submit complaints.

Since its founding in 1994, GYLA actively observes the elections of the legislative, executive and local self-government elections and attempts to promote peaceful and fair elections, as well as full compliance with the legislation of Georgia during the electoral process.

GYLA will summarize the information about the election observation process at the end of the day
