On September 30, 2012, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association held a pres-conference about GYLA’s monitoring mission for October 1, 2012 parliamentary elections.
GYLA will monitor the parliamentary elections day in Tbilisi and 35 districts throughout 9 regions of Georgia.
Static observers have been placed in 195 election precincts throughout Georgia. Mobile groups will be moving throughout 35 districts. GYLA will monitor precincts set up in exceptional cases, precincts in districts mostly settled by minorities and precincts that proved to be problematic during previous regions.

GYLA will also monitor precinct election commissions set up abroad. We have 7 observers and will conduct monitoring in the following 5 countries:

• Germany
• Hungary
We will operate a special hotline on the Elections Day, through which citizens and journalists will be able to obtain legal consultation on procedures related to polling.

GYLA will hold several briefings about the monitoring progress throughout the day in the media center of NGOs (address: 34/36 Kobuleti Str.)
Briefings will be held at 10:30am, 5:00pm and 09:00pm.
