First Outcome of the Centre for Legal Protection of Media

With the help of the Centre for Legal Protection of Media within GYLA the complaint of Studio Monitor journalist, Nana Naskidashvili has been satisfied by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The journalist was requesting public information from the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Georgia, more specifically information on construction and project works of the new MIA department, although her application submitted on November 17, 2009 was never responded.
On January 13, 2010 the administrative complaint filed by the journalist was reviewed by the head of judicial department of MIA, Davit Korakhashvili and fully satisfied all requests posed in the complaint.
The Centre for Legal Protection of Media was established in frames of the project Strengthening theMedia's Role as a Watchdog Institution in Georgia. The project is funded by EU and implemented by the Eurasian Partnership Foundation in partnership with GYLA.
