Over the years GYLA has been implementing various projects focusing on protection of IDP rights. Current ongoing projects include Innovative Ways Innovative and Applicable Durable Solutions to Displacement. The project has been funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) and implemented through the Danish Refugee Council (DRC).
The project entails several different strands and is implemented with the engagement of GYLA’s three offices in Tbilisi, Gori and Kutaisi.
Project Strands
1. Protection of human rights, development of and ensuring access to mechanisms for safeguarding human rights.
The foregoing strand combines the following activities:
• Providing group and individual consultations
• Preparing legal documents
• Providing legal service
• Bus tours to IDP collective centers and new settlement

2. Raising legal awareness of public and improving respect for law
Goal of the project is to increase IDP awareness about their rights with combination of the following activities:
• Producing and distributing brochures
• Holding round table discussions on pressing issues for IDPs
3. Ensuring that principles of accountability and transparency remain a priority and are observed in the process of elaborating and implementing the state policy.
• Facilitating and holding coordination meetings between organizations focusing on IDP rights; joint efforts for raising awareness and advocating;
• Active and constructive participation in the group of experts set up for realization of the Action Plan
• Monitoring expulsion of IDPs
