Today June 10, GYLA held the closing ceremony of the project “IChange.gov.ge - Public Awareness and Education Campaign”. People attending the meeting were informed about the activities carried out within the framework of the project, and the recommendations for the portal of petitions were also presented.

In order to introduce the portal ichange.gov.ge and to create petitions, during its activity GYLA held 20 meetings with representatives of different groups of society in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia, which was attended by more than 500 participants.

With the purpose of civil activism and promotion of the portal, info graphics, five podcasts, video and printed guidebooks were also created and information about portal was spread by radio and TV commercials. To understand better the theme of the petition, GYLA and AGC have been actively cooperating with initiators of a petition, which resulted in photo stories and articles posted in a social network.

In addition, it is noteworthy that ACT has conducted online survey about the portal ichange.gov.ge and in total, 241 people were interviewed. Considering the results of the survey, various recommendations have been made, including:

- Reducing the required number of signatures on petition;

- Simplifying of the registration on the portal;

- Improving of the mobile interface;

- It is necessary to ensure greater involvement of government administration.

During the implementation of the project, according to the Administration of the Government of Georgia, 188 petitions were registered on the electronic petition portal.

The project “IChange.gov.ge - Public Awareness and Education Campaign” was implemented with financial support of “Good Governance Initiative in Georgia”, the project of United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Awarding of journalists winner of the media competition organized by NGO “SIDA”, one of the project partners was also held at the closing ceremony of this project. The goal of the competition was to promote the idea of active citizenship and the citizen's electronic petition platform ichange.gov.ge. The winners of the competition were:

- The best TV plot - Sulkhan Meskhidze (TV -25);

- The best radio plot - Ani Burduli (radio Tavisupleba);

- The best newspaper/internet article - Tea Topuria (Radio Tavisupleba);

- The best Blog - Oliko Tsiskarishvili (Ekofact).

The closing ceremony of the project “IChange.gov.ge - Public Awareness and Education Campaign” was attended by partners of the project, the representatives of civil society, NGOs and embassies accredited in Georgia.
