GYLA's Election Observation Mission

Georgian Young Lawyers' Association held presentation of its election observation mission on the October 27, 2013 Presidential Elections. Since the day of its establishment (1994), GYLA has been involved actively in monitoring of elections of the legislative and executive branches, as well as local governments and attempts to facilitate conduct of elections in peaceful and fair environment with observance of Georgian legislation in the election process.  

On the polling day, October 27, GYLA will carry out its election observation mission in 36 election districts throughout Tbilisi and 8 regions with more than 400 election monitors.  

On-site observers will be located in more than 220 polling stations throughout Georgia, while 35 mobile groups will cover 36 election districts. In addition, GYLA will carry out monitoring in polling stations set up for special cases. Namely, districts populated by national minorities and problematic polling stations determined in pre-election period.

4. Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti;
5. Shida Kartli;
6. Kvemo Kartli;
7. Kakheti;
8. Mtskheta-Mtianeti.

22. Telavi;
23. Sagarejo;
24. Gurjani;
25. Dusheti;
26. Martvili.

GYLA will also implement election observation in precinct election commissions set up abroad, namely in Great Britain and Germany.

It should be noted that GYLA's hot-line will operate during the whole election day and citizens, as well as journalists will be able to receive legal consultations on polling procedures.

GYLA will arrange four briefings throughout the election day on election observation process in NGOs media center (address: Kobuleti str. 34/36).
On October 27 GYLA will have briefings at 9:00, 15:00, 18:00 and 21:00, whereas the election day will be assessed on October 28 at 12:00 p.m.
